| The Ghost of Fossil Glen By: Cynthia DeFelice |
||
| The Ghost of Fossil Glen is a Mark Twain Award nominee about a girl named Allie. One day, Allie is searching for fossils on a cliff in the glen. Allie was high on the cliff when she got trapped. She was hanging on to a tree. If she let go she would probably be severely injured or killed. She heard a voice in her head. It told her how to get down safely. |
Nobody was there, but Allie trusted the voice. She was able to get home safely. After Allie got home, Karen called her. Karen, a friend of Allie, was very popular at school. Karen said that she was tired of Allie making up stories and showing her stupid rocks. Then Karen hung up. |
Allie felt very shocked about this, and she thought it was a mistake. Allie calls her friend Dub and tells him about the voice. She finds out that the voice was from the ghost of a girl named Lucy. Allie will discover a murder, solve her problem with Karen, and put a spirit to rest in the exciting conclusion of The Ghost of Fossil Glen. |

Hamlet By: William Shakespeare |
||
| This story was about a prince named Hamlet who's father was murdered. Hamlet suspected that his uncle Cladius murdered his father, but he didn't find this out as a fact until his father (now a ghost) told him. Hamlet promised his father that he wouldn't take revenge on his uncle. | Sometime later, Hamlet forgot about his promise. He took revenge on his uncle by duplicating the night of his father's death in a play to see what his uncle would do. Later that day, his mother called for Hamlet to talk to him. There he killed a man. For that reason, his uncle sent him away to England to be killed. | While he was on the ship to England pirates attacked. During the attack Hamlet boarded the pirates ship. That ship took him back to Denmark. There, his uncle knew of Hamlet's return and he sent a man to challenge him to a match of fencing for his life. In the game of fencing he was given a poisoned drink. He fought and killed his opponent. Then he turned to his uncle and killed him too. Then the noble heart of Hamlet cracked. |

Ghoosebumps: Ghost Beach By: R.L. Stine |
||
| This tale focuses on a boy named Jerry Sadler, his sister Terri Sadler, and a whole town full of three hundred year old ghosts who are ancient cousins of Jerry and Terri. The last name of each ghost is Sadler. There is a cave at the beach that can block the ghosts from entering. When Jerry and Terri came to this eerie and creepy town, they loved it until they met three little kids, Sam, Louisa, and a five year old boy named Nat. |
They were annoying at first, but one day when Jerry and Terri were playing at the beach, Sam the most annoying one, suddenly became a very good friend of Jerry and Terri. Jerry and Terri are starting to feel bizarre since they found this cemetery where all the Sadlers were buried. The first name of all the Sadlers that were buried are the names of the three kids they met and their aunt and uncle they visited. |
Things are getting more bizarre as they stay. They even saw two new graves that have their names on it. The cave is also getting creepier. The three kids told Jerry and Terri about a story of a three hundred year old ghost who lived in the cave. Are the three kids right about the ghost!? Is the ghost that lives in the cave really a ghost!? Well, you just have to find it out yourself. |

Ghosts, Hauntings & Mysterious Happenings By: Phyllis Raybin Emert |
||
| This book is packed with great stories from which to choose. One of my favorite stories is "Ghost Toys". "Ghost Toys" is a story about a haunted Toys "R" Us store. One day when the manager was locking up the store, he heard scratching on the door. | He thought someone had gotten locked in the store. He went back in but no one was there.
Another great story is "The Haunted Battlefield". This story is about a lady riding her bike through a field. |
She decided to take a rest near a tree when she starts to see a battle right in front of her eyes.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Year 2 By: J.K. Rowling |
||
| Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second book in the Harry Potter Series. Harry, having just escaped the claws of evil Lord Voldemort last year, is ready for another exciting and hopefully safer year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the other witches and wizards were waiting to see who would be the new kids in their group. There are four groups: Griffendor, Slythern, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Every year the new witches and wizards would be sorted into the groups by putting on the sorting hat. The sorting hat isn't any old wizard hat. It's a wizard hat that can look in your mind and see which group you best fit in. |
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were invited to Nearly Headless Nick's (one of Hogwarts ghosts) Deathday party. On the way back to Griffindor's Dormitory Harry heard a strange voice that seemed to be coming from inside the wall. Harry told Ron and Hermione about the voice but they didn't believe him.
The next day there was a sign-up list for a dueling lesson. All of the kids wanted to learn some dueling so they all signed up. That night one boy almost got attacked by a huge snake that appeared from his partner's wand. Harry told the snake to stop and the snake didn't hurt the boy; instead he backed down and went away. |
There he learned that he could speak Parseltongue. Parseltongue is a very special language. Very few witches or wizards can speak Parseltongue. Everyone started staying away from Harry because they thought that he was the Slythern Heir. The Slythern Heir is the only one that can open the Chamber of Secrets. Lord Voldemort and Salazar Slythern also spoke Parseltongue. Since Harry was almost murdered by Lord Voldemort they think that Harry must have gotten that from Voldemort.
To find out the twisty ending be sure to read Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets. |
