| "Myth"
means story. These stories try to explain the world, life and afterlife (in terms a
particular civilization can relate to). Greek Mythology is a form of this
storytelling that is probably the most familiar to us, but many civilizations
(from the Ancient Aztecs to Chinese cultures) have their own set of myths
and mythological characters. Who hasn't heard of Zeus, the Father of
Olympus or Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love? Our website shares a little bit
about some of these major heroes (or villains) of early Greek
Civilization. Come in and explore the wonders of Greek Mythology.

Gods and Goddesses ruled on Mt. Olympus after they beat the Titans in a battle The first gods and goddesses and the first rulers of Mt. Olympus. They are all the children of Uranus and Gaia. The creatures that were in Greek Mythology were sometimes supposed to be human. Some of them were first gods or goddesses and then they did something bad and were turned into creatures. When some of the gods and goddesses or the heroic mortals died, their figure or a shape of what they represented was put into the stars so everybody could see them. On this website we have games, quizzes and, if you think you can pass it, you can take the final exam. We also have movies listed about the figures of Greek Mythology and an interview with a storyteller who uses many Greek Myths to tell her stories. |
