Hephaestus

Hephaestus is the son of Zeus and Hera.  He is the only god who is physically ugly.  Hephaestus is a double-sexed being.  He is also lame.  Some say that Hera, upset that she had an ugly child, flung him from Mt. Olympus to the ocean, breaking his legs.  Others say that he sided with Hera in a argument with Zeus and Zeus flung him off Mt. Olympus.  He is the smith and armoire of the gods and uses a volcano as his forge.  Hephaestus is kind and peace loving and is the patron god of smiths and weavers alike.  His wife is Aphrodite.
