Hestia

Hestia is the goddess of the Hearth and Fire. Making fire was a difficult task for mortals. At one time she had one of the 12 thrones on Mt. Olympus. Then Dionysus was born and Hestia decided to give up her throne for the other god and tend to the Hearth on Olympus. One time at a feast a drunken god by the name of Priapus assaulted Hestia. All of the guests were very angry and kicked him out. This represents the ill-treatment of guest, especially women, who are under protection of the Hearth.
