Amphitrite

Amphitrite is the personification of the sea. She was first a sea nerid and then because  of her marriage to Poseidon she became known as a sea goddess. Amphitrite always loved dolphins.   So Poseidon first came up to the earth to see her riding on the back of a dolphin.  Poseidon was not faithful to her and then she ran off into the Atlas Mountains, in North Africa.  Poseidon sent messengers to find her, and she was later approached by Poseidon's messenger Delphinus the dolphin  and he convinced her  to return to the sea with him. They had three children together. Amphitrite found out that Poseidon was a husband with no faith. One of his other lovers was a beautiful, nymph named Scylla.  Amphitrite turned her into an ugly monster.  Amphitrite would ride around on her sea chariot or riding on a sea animal.
