Pancreas

The pancreas is a large gland near the stomach that secretes insulin into the blood. The pancreas can sometimes wear out or just not function. If the pancreas does not function properly, you may have to take shots every day. If transplanted, the replaced pancreas will allow the return of insulin control and enzyme production.
