Organ Placement |
Before receiving an organ, the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) has to see if the donor and recipient match blood-type and body size. But first they have to see if there's anyone who needs an organ more than them. If there is no one who needs an organ in that region they offer it to another close region. If no one needs it, they offer the organ to a 500 mile radius, then 1,000 then 1,500. |
