Follow-Up

If a person is receiving a transplant, he/she will have regular doctor visits and will take medications to keep the new organ healthy.

If a family has donated a loved one's organs they will receive a letter from the organ procurement organization (OPO) letting them know who received the organs and how they are doing. Some OPO's will invite the family to a support group meeting to help deal with the loss of their family member.
