On this layer there is very little light at all, and there is barely anything that is colorful. Most of the animals are camouflaged so that they can blend in with the dark objects and the plants. Other animals have very rough skin or scales so that when animals like the ants or termites squirt something like acid at them they are protected from it. The forest floor is home to many unique plants and large animals.
