The Canopy
The canopy is the topmpost layer
of the forest; a bed of leaves supported by branches.
The trees are exceptianlly tall because they get lots of rain, and
lots of sunlight in the day. Some of the trees that make up the canopy
are around 75-150 ft. The giant trees hat go passed the canopy are called
the emergents. They are home to many birds. The canopy is just one
of the cycles of the many cycles of the rainforest, and many of its inhabitants
will never descend into the forest interior below the sea of leaves.
