Hi, my name is Denise Tokeshi. I am nine years old and I attend a public school on the Big Island of Hawaii, once a bustling plantation camp community. My 4 favorite sports are soccer, basketball, swimming, and volleyball. I came in this project because I wanted to learn more about my culture. I think that we can make a difference, that the sugar plantation will be in business again in Hawaii and we can experience the life of our ancestors once more!
My Ancestor:
My grandfather Kama Tokeshi worked in the plantation cutting cane. He came from Japan. He left there because they did not have any jobs and they was poor.
Hi, my name is Christine Ancheta Corpuz. I attend a school on the Big Island of Hawaii. I am eleven years old and in the 5th grade. I attend Mrs. Inouye's Gifted and Talented class. I like to play a lot of sports. I usually play basketball. The team I play for is "Extreme."
