The Filipinos in Hawaii have much to be proud of. They participate in the community and are actively involved in government. They take part in the business world in Hawaii, in the unions, in the military, and in all kinds of trades and professions. Many became doctors and nurses. Our present governor in the year 2000 is Ben Cayetano, a Filipino.
Filipinos are known to be musically talented. Another famous Filipino entertainer is Lea Salonga she is an international performer best known for her role in Ms. Saigon.
