BIOGRAPHY

Pablo Ruiz Picasso was one of the centuries best artist. He was born in Málagra , Spain in 1881and died in the year 1973 in France.

His dad was an art teacher at a local school. He encouraged his son to paint and draw so someday he will become a famous artist. Picasso changed his art styles a lot over his carrier . He always tried new styles.

When he was 14 him and his family moved to Barcelona .When Picasso was 16 he passed all of Spain's art tests. When he was 19 he went to Paris . When he was there he started painting like famous French artists. Then Picasso's best friend died and he started the Blue Period.

In the Blue Period Picasso would paint almost everything blue and made the people in the paintings look sad and alone. It was like his life, he was so sad he almost starved himself to death, this Blue Period was controversial. Some thought the paintings were great, some thought they were weird. The Blue Period ended when he met a girl named Fernande.

Picasso and Fernande fell in love and he started painting pictures with happier colors and people, this was called the Rose Period. He painted a lot of circus people at that time. The Rose Period was short thought.

Cubism was his next style. It was him who made cubism famous. Picasso made paintings that were far from real. For hundreds of years artists tried making paintings that looked real . His paintings looked funny because he moved the nose and chin around.

Picasso made a famous painting called Guernica after a city that was bombed. He used dark colors, cubism, expression, and size. The painting was 12 feet tall and 25 feet wide.

The part that made Picasso such a great artist was his originality . Picasso wasn't just a painter, he was a sculptor, a drawer, and a graphic artist. That's why Picasso is such a great artist.
