Some of the tribes that lived in this region included the Seminole, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Cherokee. The Cherokees did battle mostly with the Creeks; they fought for hunting ground. The native people in this area were skilled farmers, planting year round in the rich valleys.
This territory is full of forests, mountains, and river valleys. In the middle of this region, we have the Tennessee River and the Great Smokey Mountains. The land here is fertile, making it an excellent farmland. In the mountains were plenty of forests that had lots of animals for hunting, the men hunted deer and bear in the forests. The Cherokee Indians' territory covered almost eight states. Their territory was in the Appalachian Mountains.
