The first motorcycles did not look the same as they do today. The first motorcycles had bicycle tires for wheels. The size of the first motorcycles were much smaller. I don’t think they could travel very far. When the first motorcycles were made they were not that safe to ride. Then finally about 20 years later they made a safer bike called the "Safety bike", which was much safer because it had equal sized wheels.

Today’s motorcycles have a combustion engine. The first motorcycles had a firebox and a boiler. The firebox steams the coal and burns it. The boiler steams the water into steam then it turns into a gas.

Today’s motorcycles are cooler. I really think they are a lot safer also. You know Harley Davidson Motorcycles started in the 1880’s.Motorcycles have been around for about 113 years now near Harley era and they’re still running so you will never know when the powered bicycle will end!

The first motorcycles were used for two major things Racing and Transportation. When they raced I bet some of them probably made a fool of themselves. Transportation was for getting somewhere. I really think they could not go far.
