The first guitar was played in Spain more then 400 years ago. Anto Trees invented the first guitar.

There are a lot of parts to the guitar. Here are some of the parts of the guitar; the neck, body, face, fret, head, soundhole, brige, nut, fingerboard and the tuningpegs. acoustic.jpg (42834 bytes)Some of those parts are not on the electric guitar. That’s why the electric guitar needs an amp. Amp is short for amplifier. An amp is something that the musician can allows change the sound and the volume. You can do a lot of other things too. The neck is at the top of the guitar. The strings run along the neck and this is where the player presses them to make chords. The tuning pegs are to adjust the strings. The body is where you can hold the guitar. The sound hole takes the vibrations and then it echoes in side of the sound hole.

The guitar can only make its sound if it comes out of something that’s why the guitars have sound holes. But the eletrict guitar doesn’t have one. electric.jpg (36698 bytes)That means they need an amplifier to transfer the vibration of the strings.

There are many types of guitars. Here are some of them f-hole, solid body, flat top, twelve string, the electric guitar. The guitar was based on the lute. The guitar has different strings because each string makes different sounds. The thinner the strings the higher pitch. the thicker the string the lower the sound. When the strings are plucked the vibration of the strings are transferred to the sound hole. The 12 in 12 string stands for twelve strings. You can tell by counting the tuning pegs. If it has six tuning pegs it has six strings. The f hole is shaped more like a violin but bigger. And the f hole has 6 strings like the others. The twelve-string guitar is used mostly for pop and classical music.
