Hello, this is I, the master of doughnutery, Prof. Powderpuff, the doughnut
professor. Today's topic is Doughnut Nutrition. It's a little over
my head, but I know someone, or something that can help us. Meet
the one, the only, the all-knowing, Phantom of the Doughnut!
(Click on me for phantom music!)
Professor: Why hello Mister Phantom.
Phantom: No no no. Just Phantom. Not MISTER Phantom, just Phantom.
Professor: Okay, Phantom, you've been invited here today to discuss the nutritional facts of doughnuts. Could you please share some of the horrible secrets of doughnuts?
Phantom: There's actually no horrible secret.
Professor: WHAT???!!!! You must be joshing?
Phantom: No, I'm not.
Professor: If you're not kidding, then why are you dead?
Phantom: Okay, doughnuts may not be incredibly horrible, but an overdose is bad so...
Professor: A-HAH! Then I was right!
Phantom: No No NO! What you're saying is a doughnut equals death, right?
Professor: That's because it does.
Phantom: No, it doesn't. Doughnuts are only incredibly horrible for
you if you overdose. Here take
a look at my heart.
Professor: That does not look good. It looks like a high level of fat and sugar have totally ruined your heart.
Phantom: You are correct sir. Too much of the sweet stuff caused big trouble for me and my health. Add that to the horrible unhealthiness of that um... fattening fatness of fat, and you're body is going downhill from there.
Proffeser: Ah yes, I see. So what you're bascally saying is that doughnuts are fattening but not deadly?
Phantom: That is correct, most doughnuts contain high calories. The average doughnut has about 176 calories. To keep a healthy diet you must remember that no more than 30% of your fat intake should come from fat.
Proffeser: Well how do we know if it's under 30%?
Phantom: Quite simple actually. You just take the total number of fat
grams (11 grams) and multiply by 9. If it's over 30% of the total
calories, then you've had too much fat. Most doughnuts have too much fat.
