Green Salad with Chopped Nuts

1 head Boston lettuce
1 finely chopped clove garlic
   Dash salt
   Dash black pepper
1 tablespoon wine vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Wash lettuce; drain on absorbent paper.  Tear into bit-sized pieces.  Combine rest of ingredients, except walnuts; chill.  Before serving, pour dressing over lettuce and toss lightly.  Top with chopped walnuts.  Toss again.
Serves 6
