Wolf Fish

The Wolf Fish lives in the North Atlantic and the North Pacific. They have large fang-like teeth, which they use to tear apart their food. Their jaws crush the jaws of clams and crabs. The Wolf fish is known to attack when threatened. They grow up to 5 feet and may weigh 40 pounds. There are usually brown or gray dark vertical lines or spots on their body. The largest egg this fish lays is about one fourth of an inch. They lay as many as 40,000 eggs in round masses. wolffish.tif (276966 bytes)
