Wandering Albatross

 

    The Wandering Albatross eats squids and other cephalopods, while the babies will eat fish and regurgitated oil food from it’s mother. It will fly a long way over the ocean to get it’s food. They live on exposed mountains where they can take off into the wind. When the mating season comes around ( which is every 2 years ) to attract a mate they will spread their wide wings and wave its head while rapping their beaks and making braying calls. It will live for an average of 30 years.

 Interesting Fact:

The Albatross is the bird with the longest wingspan at an average of 9 feet 9 inches!

Light-Mantled Sooty Albatross

 

   This albatross has a dark color appearance. It can glide long distances and flies in pairs. It eats squids, fish, and other crustaceans by floating and grabbing. They nest in scattered pairs on ledges of steep slopes. They live on islands in the southern ocean.
