Colorado "The Centennial State" became the 38th state on August 1, 1876. Colorado's mineral resources are zinc, silver, molybdenum, beryl, clay, cement, coal, copper, Fluorspar, gold, iron,, lead, mica, Natural gas, petroleum, sand and gravel , and uranium. Turquoise came from many mines in many counties in Colorado. But, now, the only commercial mines are around Mamassa in Conejos County. |
