The Early Days of Baseball Cards

Baseball originated centuries ago but  hasn't been a professional sport since the late 1800's. The first professional baseball team was the Cincinnati Red Stockings who are formally known as the Cincinnati Reds. The first American baseball cards were produced by various tobacco companies such as the American Tobacco Company. The most valuable card is the Honus Wagner T-206 card (worth over $450,000) which was produced by The American Tobacco Company. Some of the reasons that the Honus Wagner T-206 card is worth so much is because he was really good at baseball, he is in the Baseball Hall-of-Fame, the card was produced back in the early 1900's, and there isn't many Honus Wagner T-206 cards left in the world. The reason that there aren't many T-206's left is because Honus Wagner was against smoking, and there were only about 40 Wagner cards produced!
