Gods are very famous in Egypt and very important to them also. One of the most famous
Gods in Egypt was Ra. He was the great Sun God. When a famous person died he would take
their soul and weigh it against the feather of truth. If the feather of truth weighed
more, that meant that you were not truthful in your life which meant you had to go to the
under world.
Ra is a man with a bird's head. He carries the sun on his head, a spear in the right
hand, and the unk symbol, which signified eternal life.
Another god was Osiris. Osiris was a high priest and he had many followers. One
day when he was sailing on a boat, somebody was jealous of his position, so they cut him
up and tossed him in the ocean. His wife Isis saw a man with a bloody knife, so she knew
her husband was in danger. She went to the other side of the boat and saw he wasn't there.
She found his body parts in the ocean and pieced him together again. Then he and his wife
became the God and Goddess of death.
