Egyptians didn’t use writing like our writing they used Hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics is a special writing made with pictures and shapes. A picture of a dog meant the word "dog" in Egyptian. We don’t know much about Egyptian schools, but we do know that this what most boys studied with scribes (people who know how to write).

Reading, writing, and math were all basic subjects. Egyptian children would write on special clay tablets and wrote with special pens made from reed. If a child made a mistake they would be punished.
