Geography and Locations of Egypt

Cameljenk_copy(1).jpg (11393 bytes) Egypt is one of the oldest countries in the world. Egypt's capital is Cairo. The climate is mainly dry, sandy, desert. It borders Sudan, Israel, and Libya. The population of Egypt is about 53, 170, 000. At the Cairo Museum it's filled with lotus and papyrus plants. The lotus or water lily floats in the water in the outer rectangle. The languages there are Arabic, Egyptian, and English for visitors. The resting days there are Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday.
Saqqara is one of the places in Egypt. There, you would see the Step Pyramid of King Djoser of the Old Kingdom.  The Step Pyramid is the first known monumental sculpture made of stone anywhere in the world. Sphinxjenk.jpg (24892 bytes)

In Giza there is the Giza Plateau. The Giza Plateau is part of the necropolis of ancient Memphis. The Pyramid of Khufu is really cool. The jagged edges of the Pyramid reveal the lack of the original smooth veneer of tight Tura limestone. From a distance a climb to the top of the Pyramid of Khufu would seem so cool and tempting to try to climb it. But once you or someone else got next to the pyramid you wouldn't want to be invited on top of it. giza_saq_copy(1).jpg (11465 bytes)

I hope you enjoyed your tour through the many locations of EGYPT. Don't get stuck in the sand of Egypt!
