Quokka

A quokka is a relative of the kangaroo. They are about the size of a rabbit. They are very furry animals. Quokkas are tame creatures. Their main home is on Rottnest Island, which is near Perth, Western Australia. When quokkas were first discovered, the Dutch thought they were rats. That is how Rottnest Island got its name. It means "rat nest." They are not rats. They are tiny wallabies called quokkas.
