Opossums are found in the Western Hemisphere. They live form Ontario southward into South America. There are many species of opossums, most of them found in Central or South America. Opossums hunt at night and eat almost any animal of vegetable. The common opossum grows to be about as big as a house cat. They have grayish-white fur, long snouts, dark eyes, and hairless ears. They have long tails and are capable of hanging upside down. They have 50 sharp teeth. Small, murine opossums have thick fur. Yapok opossums have webbed feet and are great swimmers. |
