Dugongs are gentle giants that prefer a solitary life. Being so gentle a dugong will mostly flee instead of fight. Dugongs feed on sea grass. They live in two primary sites, the Great Barrier Reef and the Torres strait. Many dugongs are brutally killed each year, leaving the dugongs vulnerable to extinction.
