Aye-Aye
Aye-aye are in the Primate order, the Daubentonlidae family,
the Prosimii suborder, and the Daubentonia Genus species.
This primate is about the size of a raccoon, with its body
length being 15.75 inches long, and its tail 16 inches long. This
animal has short white hairs, black hairs, black ears, and a pale
face. Aye-ayes are considered the strangest of all primates
and live in the northwest forests of Madagascar. They eat
insect larvae, the inside of ramy nuts, nectar, and fungi. They
mate all year long, with one offspring every 2 to 3 years.
Aye-ayes have a life span of 26 years in captivity, but their life
span in the wild is unknown.
