King George

Born: June 4, 1738

Died: January 29 1820

King George was King of England for 60 years, from 1770- 1820.

King George was eleven before he could read. He was lazy and didn’t care about anything, and no one could teach him any subject.

King George got his throne at the age of 22. When he got his throne, he saw a few things that needed to be done. The first thing was to break the power of the Whig families. The second was to gain control of the Parliament. That was a major struggle to him.

When the American Revolution was started, the British had plenty of men. When the war was in the middle, the British didn’t have enough troops. King George III didn’t send any troops to back Britain up. The reason why he didn’t is because he was deaf to advice given to him and because the war already cost enough money, so sending troops would cost even more. So these are two of the many reasons why The British lost.
