Pele : The Volcano Goddess
Ancient Hawaiians believed that Pele, who eats the land, is both creator and destroyer of volcanoes. She throws molten fountains into the air, creates the great flow of lava, and sometimes relives herself, for a minute in fires of Kilauea.
