1200: Men wore a surcoat called a tunic. Women wore wimples. A wimple was a throat cover worn by women in Europe. Women wore the wimple with hood like coverings.

1400-1500:Fur trim was worn on some clothing during the 1400-1500's. Rabbit and fox fur was also very popular. Italian clothing became fairly elaborate during the Renaissance period more than ever.

1600-1700:Fancy heeled shoes were worn by both men and women. Most shoes were trimmed with bows and such. Lace and Linen collars were also popular in the 1620's.

1800:Tight-waisted dresses and full skirt bacame stylish in the 1830's. Men of the 1800's wore top hats and frocks or tail coats.

1900:Boyish looks were popular in the 1920's. Women wore un-fitted, straight dresses with long necklaces.

2000: Today's fashion is about really baggy pants or tight fitted jeans, but what will be next?
