Grabber Tips
These are some helpful tips, to make grabbers!
First of all....what are grabbers? I use grabbers as little "reader catchers". They're used to catch the reader's attention, so they read on. It can be a question, or maybe a little "skit".
Here are 2 different types of grabbers, you can choose to read both of them, or maybe only one. It depends on how you want to make your grabber.
Question Grabbers
Example: Do you like people going through your locker? Have they ever heard of privacy?
- Question Grabbers, have questions
- The questions can be yes or no questions. (I wouldn't recommend it though)
- Use questions that really make the reader think.
- Using more than one question helps. (Maybe 3-6)
Character Grabbers
Example: "I don't have any homework!" yelled Justin. "Ugh, I have so much homework!" complained Julie.
- Make the character have expression! It's much more interesting.
- It's easier to understand, if the character has names. (Justin, Julie, Nadine, etc.)
- You can use 2, or 3 characters, but I wouldn't recommend using any more. (It'll become too confusing.)
- Always remember, use good grammar, and spelling. (You can always spell check!)
