To replant the kalo, first you cut the leaves off (picture #1). Next you cut 1/4 inch of the rooting area (picture #2). The part left over is called the huli. (picture #3). To replant the huli first you tie a rope across the pond to line it up (picture #4).Then you dig a hole about 5 inches into the ground and put the huli in the hole. The distance between each huli must be from the tip of your fingers to your elbow.(picture #5) |
