War in Air

As you see, the United States Air Service uniform of World War One looks quite uncomfortable.(click here to see my drawing of the uniform and other pictures.)   The soldiers were getting really angry about their uniforms.  Mainly because of the tight necks which were made of wool which irrritated their skin, especially when they turned their heads quickly.  To stop this the soldiers went to local tailors and had them make their necks open like the collars worn by British royal flying corps.
When they started making arial attacks they really couldn't do much.  But then the French invented the fletchetts.  These deadly spear like weapons were dropped directly from the plane.  In a way they were almost like missles except they didn't blow up.   The reason they were so deadly was that they were sharp enough to go through a horse.  But soon they invented a weapon even deadlier then the fletchetts, and that weapon was the machine gun.  It was the most powerful and deadliest weapon of World War One.
The machine gun was used in the trenches, and in the air.  Here are names of the most widely used machine guns used in the air: first there is the Lewis .303 used by Belgium, Great Britain, and the United States.  Next is the Hotchkiss portable mk. I* used by France, and Great Britain.  Then there's theVickers Model 1918 used by Great Britain.  There's also the Lmg. 08/15 Spandau used by Germany.  And finally the Parabellum Mg. 13 also used by Germany.

WAR AT SEA

During the war the British ships sometimes used were the dreadnoughts, battle cruisers, cruisers, and destroyers.
Soon America made a firm stand against Germany.  This caused the Germans to modify their method of submarine warfare.  Suddenly America fought hard enough to temporarily cease Germany’s submarine warfare.
However, soon Germany was back in business with their submarines.  So it was a good thing Britain decided to sink many of Germany’s  ships.

War At Land

Fighting on Land wasn't easy for everybody.  The French and British weren't used to marching really far so they thought all they had to do was march a short distance, fight and then march back.    But the Germans were smarter than that.  They had tanks and automobiles.
It was almost like the Germans were fighting a war in their time and the French and other countries were fighting an ancient war.    Later the British made a raid of 400 tanks on Germany.  But the sad thing was that the British failed.  Their raid was not successful.  This was the biggest raid with tanks in military history.
