In the NEWSWEEK  Poll, 74% support registration for all handgun owners, and 93% favor a mandatory waiting period for people who want to buy handguns.

 

78% think gun control will be an important issue in the next year's election. By a margin of 34% to 26%, they agree more with the Democrat on the issue.

 

Only 21% of gun owners favor an outright ban on non-police handguns. But 50% of the people who don't own firearms are in favor of such a ban.
