In order to stop gun violence Clinton is set to provide fourteen million dollars to local law enforcement to buy back and destroy up to 280,000 guns nationwide.  This will help stop gun killings a little bit.  In 1984 Jim Brady stopped 470,000 people from buying guns.  This is a big improvement, and that is what Clinton is trying to do.  NASRO is concerned that 24-72 hours is not an adequate amount of time for law enforcement to do an effective background check.  Many people think it is necessary to have gun checks at all gun shows.  You may be wondering why they don't stop gun shows period.  Well, the reason why is because that is how some people make money, and there isn't a real law that says that no one can make money.

After the massacre in Littleton, Colorado, police and the president are looking at violence from a different point of view.   Concerned parents are probably thinking that there should be not guns what so ever.   The police and Clinton are looking at it like this, if we stop selling guns that could provide even more crime because it will make some people feel unsafe.  For example 1.4 elementary students come home alone with a gun in the house.  So many people are trying to stop the violence.  There are places you can go if you need help, or if you see someone with a gun.  But you always need to follow the laws and not do something illegal.

Laws in all fifty states are changing.  Which is a good thing because that will maybe make the state laws safer.   Some state laws say that it is okay to buy guns, some say that it is illegal and you would get charged a fine.  The schools are becoming safer; police are putting metal detectors in the entrances of some schools and having dogs sniff out drugs.  At most schools there are signs that say DRUG FREE SCHOOL ZONE.  That means that no one can come in with any drugs or weapons and if they get caught, ( which they always do,) they will probably get suspended from school and if it is bad enough they go to juvenile.  If they have a gun they will have a long time in juvenile.

Sheriffs from all over the world say that if parents would give their children more attention it just might make the would a better place.   The reason this theory was made is because if you don't get a lot of attention from your parents then you probably will get mad and lonely and just have to repay them somehow.  So most of the time  you will end up getting violent and have an urge to kill someone.  If your parents give you attention you will learn how to love and how to stay away from gangs and how to stay away from gangs and how guns can get you in big trouble.  To stop gun control volunteers are going to keep an eye out for gangs and will have background checks whether you are at a gun show or if you are just getting a gun to go hunting.  There will also be gun safety locks that you are provided to get.   Thirty percent of families with children keep loaded guns in their house.

In 1994 the Oklahoma bombing took place along with many other things with firearms and guns, 102 preschoolers lost their lives to firearms, homicides and accidents in 1994.  The year, 1994 was a very bad year for preschoolers and children older.  Gun deaths were the 3rd leading cause of death for children ages 5-14.

Not very long ago President Clinton and some movie stars gathered at a fund-raiser to make tighter gun laws in this country.  One of the actresses was Whoopi Goldberg.  She donated 10,000 dollars.  Her granddaughter asked her one time, "Am I going to die?" and other things like, "Will I live to graduate?"  These words changed her life and so she decided to help stop this violence.  Now, what does this mean to you?  I personally would not like to be killed at the age of 12 and you probably wouldn't either, no matter how old you are.   GUNS ARE JUST NOT WORTH IT!!!
