The female Cardinal is much darker than the male. They are still red birds. I think the State bird is pretty becaues it is a bright red.The State bird stays in the winter cold and stays warm in the spring and summer
in Kentucky.  The red Carddinal eats bird food like the rest of them. Their eggs  are layed all over  in fields or in briar bush and there are many other places too.
