The goldenrod is the state flower. It mainly grows all over Kentucky. It is tall and bright yellow. Usally people call it a weed because it grows with weeds. They are a type of autumn flower. Golden rods for many years have been considered a major cause of hay fever. Excperiments with golden rod pollen has shown that they are totally harmless. Goldenrods are herbs and stalklss leaves. The smaller goldenrod has anise scented leaves are used to make herb tea. A Golden Rod is about six to seven feet.
