Leonardo's Life

     Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 in a small town by the name of Vinci , Italy.  His last name was the same as the name of the town.
    He was considered one of the greatest painters of Italian Renaissance .  He had a sharp  mind that led him to make important scientific discoveries , but he never published his ideas.   He was a kind vegetarian who loved animals and hated  war.  However, he invented advanced weapons for warfare.
       Leonardo was a Renaissance painter and scientist.  He painted realistic things.   He painted figures without outlining them .  He used light and shadow to give his pictures a 3-D effect .  He was able to paint feelings such as happiness and sadness.
