Review
Hyper Peppy is a small wheeled robot that responds to sound.
If you leave it alone for a little while, who knows where it's
going to go? The sensor sticking out in the front of the robot
is a microphone. It responds to bumping into something, talking
loudly, or clapping. It is a small robot with dimensions of 5"
x 5.5" x 3.5." It is a little bit bigger than a softball.
Hyper Peppy is very fast. It's small, has a DC motor, and
three wheels. I liked how fast it is. It has a microphone in
front and uses that to avoid obstacles. The hard part was connecting
wires to the PC board. The easy parts were installing the wheels,
putting the motor in, and installing the switch.
Pros
You can play when it's done. It only required household tools.
No special tools or skills like knowing how to solder are required.
I liked chasing Hyper Peppy.
Cons
Advanced roboters will probably find it too simple.
Educational value
What did it teach?
I learned that if you make a mistake connecting wires it doesn't
work because it isn't connected properly. I learned to connect
wires. I learned about electronic and mechanical drive systems.
"My" Advice
I would recommend this to anyone who is a beginner at robot
building. I made this robot in 11 hours with some help from my
dad.
