Robot Spoken Here
A site about these fascinating automatons by Robbie, Andrew, and Abhishek.
Throughout the ages, people have imagined human like servants taking care of their houses without supervision. Greeks had made automatic door openers. An ancient scientist had created a spinning air pressure globe. A French toy maker even made an automated duck that could digest food. These were the start of the first robots.
The term robot first came up when the Czech playwright Karel Capek made a play called "Rossum's Universal Robots". In the play, a factory owner named Rossum tries to replace his human workers with mechanical people. The mechanical people rebel against the humans and destroy the world. In Czech language, the word robota meant drudge or worker.
