    The warthog is found from Sahara to Cape Province in thinly forested areas. It stands 28 inches at the shoulder. The warthog’s neck and back are covered with long bristly hair. Its tail is long and it is tufted at the end. The warthog’s head is large with a wide, flat muzzle. Its eyes are set far back in its head and it has bad eyesight. Both the male and female have two sets of large tusks that curve upward. They are on the upper and lower jaw. The warthog has large warts between its tusks and eyes. It eats roots, berries, and grasses.
