The
first thing you should do to prepare for a tsunami
is to find out if you work, play or live in a
Tsunami evacuation area. These places along with
civil defense areas can be found in your yellow
pages of your phone books.
If
you hear a siren turn on your radio or your tv and
watch or listen for information that could assist
you in any information that you will need to
know.If you need assistance ask your friend or
someone around you to help you.Dont rush just move
in a calm way to prevent any accidence that could
accure. If these accidence do accure it will hold
you as wel as others up.Move to a non-evacuation
zone somewhere that is safe to wait untill the
tsunami is over.
Another
sign that a tsunami is coming is when the water
disappears exposing the ocean floor and fish.
Another clue is if you see a huge gigantic wave
coming at the island. If you are not inside and are
bye tall things that may cause injury if it falls
get away because chances are that it may fall on
you and injury you or even kill you.
Make
an evacuation plan and share it with your family so
you all know what to do incase of a tsunami. There
will be phone lines open that you and your familys
can use for information or questions.
If
you are in school and you hear the sirens, follow
your teachers advice and do what your teacher says
to be as safe as can be.
Some
reinforced concrete buildings may be able to
withstand the force of tsunamis not all of them
have this ablity.
