Food in Saudi Arabia
The main meal used to be in the mid-afternoon around 2 pm but now has changed to the evening because of work schedules. Conversation is not encouraged during the meal. They usually like to talk before or after a meal.
Their dishes are mainly with rice and lamb or chicken and are mildly spicy. Kabsah is a favorite dish with rice and lamb. Desserts are usually with fruit. On the coasts, fish is common in their meals. Popular beverages are tea, coffee, camel's milk and buttermilk. Pita bread is dipped in meal sauce. Coffee or tea is served before each meal. Muslims do not eat pork or drink alcohol.
