Food in Panama
In Panama, they eat three meals a day. Campesino families only eat two meals a day. Rice is the main crop for Panama. They say if one hasn't eaten if one hasn't eaten rice. Rice is like always served with every meal. Fish is usually in soups in Panama. They usually eat fruits as a snack. Chicha is a popular drink made from vegetables, fresh fruits, and sugar. Coffe is a part of the breakfast. Some common dishes in Panama are sancocho (chicken soup), bollo(corn mush which was boiled in husk), guacho(rice soup), corn tortillas, and guisando(stewed meat with tomatoes and spices). Arroz con pollo is rice with chicken that is eaten in special occasions. In restraunts they usually leave a 5 to 10 percent tip.
