Kenya is the size of Texas and lies on the equator. The northern part of Kenya is very hot and dry. Near the coast, the climate is hot and humid. Less than 1/3 of the land is suitable for agriculture. Only 15 percent of the land receives enough rainfall. Most of the people live in the areas around Lake Victoria, the highlands and the coast.
