Part of the Sahara Desert is in Egypt. Summers are hot and humid, with temperatures reaching 100 degrees. Winters are moderate with lows near 40 degrees F. Annual rainfall ranges from virtually nothing in the desert and about 8 inches in the Nile Delta. Khamasiin, a hot dust wind, blows in the summer.
