At the Sugar Bowl millions of dollars go into the local economy in and around New Orleans. The impact of $132.4 million on the metro region, includes direct tax revenue of $3.9 million dollars for the state and $2.4 million dollars for the local governments. In 1999 1,000 people came to the city without game tickets. 60 million or more come and watch the game every year.
