How to say "No!"
There are many different reasons why teenagers and kids do drugs. We believe it is mostly because they don't know how to say "No."
Peer pressure causes most teens to start drugs. There are a lot of different ways they can tell their friends no. Here are a few.
Although most teenagers would not do this to their freinds, it is probably the most affective way; cold shoulder them. Show them you are above their level. Avoiding the situation is another way to keep out of trouble. Showing disbelief will definitely get the message across.
Or you could even walk with four or five people; strength in numbers. All the ways we have listed are non-vocal ways to say ''No.''
There are a few vocal ways also. Telling someone "No" is different from an implied no. You could simply tell the person "No Thanks."
You could also give an excuse like... "No, my mom is about to pick me up."
Also, broken record is an affective way.
You could participate in groups such as SADA, students against drugs and alcohal.
Although there are so many walls to climb, there are ways you can quit or, better yet, never start drugs. |
